Registration Intern
The Registration Intern will work with the Acquisitions Registrar and Collections Assistant to improve collections documentation and resolve collections storage issues. This position is mainly onsite as the intern will work directly with records and collections.Additional projects can be developed according to individual interest as the semester progresses.
- Anthropology

- Interest in or experience with museum collections
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while also being able to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to attend meetings and complete tasks on a timely basis
- Experience with Google Workspace
- Create documentation and spreadsheets for registration projects
- Survey collections documentation
- Research donation and object histories
- Consult with Acquisitions Registrar and Collections Assistant on issues
- Produce concise reports on findings
- Attend Collections Department meetings when possible
- Assist with object labeling and processing
- Assist with collections inventories at various MNHS sites
The intern will gain hands-on experience with museum collections registration and management. They will receive training in object handling and utilize the collections management system for research, which are useful skills for anyone interested in museum work. The intern will also be provided with educational readings relevant to the work, their interests, and knowledge level.
