Teaching Hidden Histories

Audience: K-12 Teachers
Join the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute and the Minnesota Historical Society Teacher Education for a two-hour webinar engaging with hidden histories. Participants will engage with scholars, primary sources, and activities for classroom use.
This two-hour virtual session will take place on Zoom and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers of all grade levels are welcome.

Black Girlhood in History and Literature
Cost: $70

Location: Minnesota History Center (St. Paul, MN)
Audience: K-12 Teachers
How does literature highlight the unique experiences of Black girlhood? Teacher participants will use primary sources to connect literature to historical people and events. We will also explore the Girlhood (It's Complicated) exhibit and engage with Dr. Lashon Daley, director of the National Center for Children's Literature, before her public event, "Experiences of Black Girlhood."

Historical Sources and Evidence: Vietnam War

Audience: K-12 Teachers
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, join us to learn about historical sources you can use in the classroom to engage students with this topic. We will hear from speakers, explore primary sources, and learn about digital resources to support your classroom. History Day Teacher Workshops
There are no scheduled History Day Workshops at this time.
Cancellation policy
- Registrants canceling 24 hours before the workshop are eligible for a refund or credit. (This includes weather related cancellations.)
- Registrants unable to attend a workshop may send someone in their place; substitutions will be made at the registration desk the day of the event.
- No refunds or credits will be granted for nonattendance.
